Sting Reportedly Injured at UK Impact Tapings

TNA star Sting was reportedly injured at Satuday night’s TNA Impact Wrestling tapings from the UK, according to f4wonline.com. Credit to reader Stephen Lyon for sending in the following live report:

“In a match for the Feb 9th go-home Impact, it was Sting & Storm over Roode & Ray. Sting blew out his heel in an innocuous looking spot. Sting made Roode submit in the scorpion for the finish, then ref Brian Hebner did the X sign with his arms and sprinted down the aisle to the back to get help. Sting did a brief promo praising the fans, then said he’d heard something pop in his heel. Sting then brawled very gingerly with Bully Ray to the back, scuppering what appeared to be a Hogan & Sting & Storm vs Roode & Ray & Angle dark match. Instead, Hogan & Storm did a 2 on 3 cleaning house, before the Hogan pose down.

Jake Roberts On WWE Hall of Fame Exclusion, The Undertaker & Kane In Masks

– One of the most unique and memorable wrestlers in WWE history, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, is among the most glaring omissions from the WWE Hall of Fame. Roberts commented recently on Facebook on whether his exclusion from WWE’s gallery of greats concerns him.

He wrote, “My real opinion of this, is I can’t let it rule my life. I appreciate the fan support, every bit as much as I SHOULD. But the HOF isn’t going to make or break my day..I have other things to concern myself with. Its not conceit, its not apathy. Its reality.”

– WWE.com has published a photo gallery of The Undertaker and Kane wearing masks. WWE.com asks “Which masked Brother of Destruction is more frightening, The Undertaker or Kane?”

The Undertaker wore a mask in 1995 and 1996 after suffering a broken orbital bone during a match against King Mabel (a/k/a Viscera, Big Daddy V).

– The Rock is featured on the cover of the latest issue of the Mexican wrestling magazine Super Luchas. He participated in an interview with the magazine while touring Mexico recently to promote Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.

Randy Orton Says He Needs To Work On His Promos, J.R. Scouting Amateurs

– The February 2012 issue of WWE Magazine features an interview with Randy Orton and he is asked if his career is lacking anything. He says promos.

“I can cut a better promo. I don’t know if I’ll ever be a guy who goes out there like John Cena and get away with telling jokes and then bring it back around to being serious. I honestly don’t know if I have that much range. It’s not me, but that’s not a problem,” he says.

“I definitely could be better on the stick, though. Is it affecting me in a negative way? I don’t think so. Other than Cena, there’s no one on the roster who’s been champ as many times as I have.”

– Jim Ross stated Sunday on Twitter that he is scouting prospective talent at today’s amateur wrestling meet between the University of Oklahoma and Lehigh University.

– WrestlingFigs.com says Bryan Clark has been added to Legends of Wrestling 14, which takes place Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Monroe, New Jersey.

Dolph Ziggler Discusses His Matches with CM Punk and Legends Returning

- Dolph Ziggler spoke with IGN.com this weekend to promote WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Here are some highlights:

IGN: Who do you have the best in-ring chemistry with right now?

Ziggler: You know what, I’ve had a few matches with CM Punk already and even though they haven’t been too long, for two guys with two different styles I felt that we put on great matches. That’s why I’m really looking forward to Sunday. I’d have to go with Punk right now just because we’ve gone in there a couple times and neither one of us really showed any weaknesses in our performance so now I’m looking forward to facing him at the Pay Per View where we might get more time and see which one of us is going to bend first.

IGN: A few weeks back, on RAW, you told Mick Foley that he wasn’t welcome in the Rumble match. How do you feel about the legends coming back to take spots on the card?

Ziggler: When I went out there to talk to Mick I really just told the truth. And it’s not just me. There are guys in the back who are at every live event, five nights a week, who go out there and try to prove themselves every single night all year long hoping that they’ll be considered for the Royal Rumble. And I understand that Mick’s a legend and people love him. I get that. But to just come back and say “Hey, I’m going to take this spot” blows my mind. It’s hard for me to believe that it can even happen. I understand that legends come back, but I don’t understand the mentality of someone saying “Yeah, I should be in this match because I used to be really good.”

IGN: Would that also extend to The Rock being at WrestleMania?

Ziggler: Of course it does to some extent. And while appreciate what The Rock has gone on to do and I appreciate the fact that when he comes back every once in a while it will catch the attention of different people who might not usually see a WWE show, which gets more eyes on us, but it also it also does strike a nerve with me because he gets top billing even though we don’t really see him that often. I get it. I know he’s busy. I’m busy too. Being on the show and stealing the show every night.

IGN: And what about Chris Jericho? He’s someone who’s gone away and come back. And now he’s in the Rumble. What do you think about what he’s been doing on RAW?

Ziggler: I’m intrigued as to what he’s doing but I can’t really compare what he’s doing to something like Mick Foley or The Rock because he’s on the show and he’s with us on the live events too. So I know that it at least seems like he’s back full time. So that makes me not mind it so much. Because it feels like he’s with us. But I don’t know what he’s going to do or say, beside the few words he said last Monday night. I’m curious to see where he’s going with all this. And I’m kind of giving him a pass because he’s earned the right to do it because he seems to be back full time.
