Jerry Lawler Discusses Edge & The Four Horsemen Going Into WWE’s HOF

- WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler spoke with Scott Fishman of The Miami Herald this week to promote the Hall of Fame tickets going on sale. Here are a few highlights:

Edge’s induction:
“We know how young Edge is, but because of his physical condition, his career was cut short. In that respect, he has come to the end of his wrestling career, but when you look back, he was such an amazing performer and accomplished so much in a short time to become worthy of being in the Hall of Fame. He is a special individual. I think it’s great he is going to be in there.

His popularity is worldwide. It’s just tremendous. I don’t think there will be anyone out there saying he shouldn’t be in there because he is too young. Here is a guy who has accomplished so much that everybody I have talked to since it was announced is just excited for Edge.”

The Horsemen Induction:
“Ric Flair having two rings is going to make a lot of people a little bit jealous. Though there is no way you can say the Four Horsemen are not worthy of being inducted in the Hall of Fame because, as a group, industry-wide, they were as formidable a group of talent that there ever has been. Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, I’m excited for them. J.J. Dillon has always been a favorite of mine.”

Hogan Says He’s Shaving His Head and Mustache, Pokes Fun At Dead Wrestlers

Speaking to TMZ, Hulk Hogan says he plans to shave off his trademark facial hair and skullet for a film role.

“I’m getting ready to go on some auditions. I’m getting ready to shave my head and my mustache. So that should be scary,” he told a TMZ cameraman who was waiting outside his Florida residence Wednesday.

The wrestling legend also said he feels better after undergoing dental surgery Tuesday night, which resulted in doctors removing a metal tack from his mouth and cleaning up the surrounding infection. In October he went in for dental surgery to get implants. The doctor performed a sinus graft, placing a donor bone in the mouth to support the implant. The TMZ cameraman asked Hogan where he got the donor bone.

“I think I got it from some dead… you know one of my dead ex-wrestling… aww I shouldn’t say it,” Hogan jokes.

Latest On Randy Savage In WWE Hall of Fame, Shelly Martinez On “Dog Whisperer”

– Lanny Poffo appeared on a podcast hosted by Steve Wilton and commented on the possibility of Randy Savage being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. Poffo said he did not hear from WWE after his brother passed away last May and that he has not heard from them regarding enshrinement into the Hall.

Lanny claimed last year during an interview that Randy would have only accepted enshrinement into the WWE Hall of Fame if the Poffo family (Angelo, Lanny and Randy) went in together like the Von Erichs. Randy pulled a similar power play in 1995 as Angelo was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame as a favor from management. Legendary wrestling announcer Gordon Solie objected to Poffo’s induction because he did not consider him to be a notable wrestler.

– Former WWE performer Shelly Martinez appears with her sister Danielle on this Saturday’s episode of Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan. The reality program, which features Millan working with “problem dogs,” airs at 8:00 p.m. on Nat Geo WILD.

– Dan Severn and WWE Hall of Famer Ivan Putski have been announced for WrestleReunion, which takes place January 27-29 at the Westin Los Angeles Airport 5400 West Century Blvd. Los Angeles, California.
